The City of Euclid, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), is seeking public comment regarding the following project: 

East 222nd Street/ Babbitt Road - Downtown Safety Improvement Project (PID 102272) – A roadway and realignment project to improve pedestrian safety and eliminate dangerous turning maneuvers at East 222nd Street and Babbitt Road through the installation of a raised island (right-in/right- out) at East 222nd Street and Babbitt Road, the relocation of Brock Court further from Babbitt Road, the extension of Shore Center Drive from Babbitt Road to East 222nd Street, and the installation of medians and crosswalks on Lakeshore Boulevard from East 217th Street to Babbitt Road.  The total project cost is estimated to be $1,783,334.

On July 17, 2017, Euclid City Council voted to not accept federal funds in the amount of $1,500,000 from the Ohio Department of Transportation to build the proposed project.  As a result, the project will not be developed.

Project plans and specifications will be available for a 30-day public review and comment period beginning on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the City of Euclid Municipal Center, Office of Planning and Development from 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and online at through May 30, 2018.  Any comments should be submitted in writing to the Department of Planning and Development no later than Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 5:00pm.
