Mayor signs Declaration of State of Emergency
On 3/23/20, Mayor Gail signed a Declaration of State of Emergency for the City of Euclid in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This declaration is a formality that allows the City to respond to unique challenges outside the City’s day-to-day operations.
This declaration authorizes the Mayor to approve emergency action measures related to functions such as purchasing, employee work schedules, implementing emergency plans, and is important to have in place should emergency funding or reimbursements become available. These are the same reasons that our federal, state, and county governments have ALL declared state of emergencies over the last week. This provision prepares the City of Euclid to quickly respond to any situation that might arise from the outbreak in order to protect the well-being of the residents of Euclid.
