Bill Cervenik was first elected to office on November 4, 2003 as the 13th Mayor of the City of Euclid. In November of 2011, the residents re-elected him to serve a third consecutive term. Bill began his political career as Euclid Ward I Councilman, serving from November, 1989 to April, 1997. He became Euclid Council President in April,1997 where he served till November, 2001. Most recently, Bill was a member of the Euclid Planning & Zoning Commission Member in 2002.
Mayor Cervenik has a long history of giving-back to the community as a member of many organizations. The Mayor's Community Associations are: President - Euclid Exchange Club, Treasurer - Club 59'ers, member of American Institute of C.P.A.'s, Irish American Club, Euclid Slovenian Society, Euclid Chamber of Commerce (former Treasurer and Golf Outing Chairman) and the Audit Committee of Euclid City Schools. The Mayor formerly served as the Board Member - Euclid Family YMCA, Trustee - Euclid Development Corp. and was the Chamber's Euclid Business Person of the Year in 1995 and 2007. He also in a Board member of the RTA.
The Mayor has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983 and a partner with Gallagher, Cervenik & Associates from 1985 to the present. He graduated from Cleveland State University in 1980 with a Business Administration/Accounting degree.
The Mayor has been married to Mary Kay since June 21, 1974. They have two grown children, Bill and Katie, and are the proud grandparents of Emma.
