Household batteries can be recycled, A, AA, AAA, C, D , 9V etc, You can drop off your old, expired batteries at our Lakefront Community Center any time it is open. The receptionist will take your batteries and they will be recycled.

Car batteries & used oil - Lube Stop is now offering a free recycling program for used batteries and used oil at 20 locations in Cuyahoga County. Used motor oil and car/truck/boat batteries will be collected during store hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Up to 6 quarts of motor oil from do-it-yourself mechanics are accepted. Residents may still drop off paper products at the various Abitibi recycling sites (green and yellow bins) which contribute a portion of the profits to charity.
Aluminum cans are collected at Fire Station #1, 775 East 222nd Street and benefit the MetroHealth Burn Unit

Computer Round-Up
Date: August 1 – 31, 2012
Location: John A.Piscitello Service Center
25200 Lakeland Blvd.
Hours: Computers and related apparatus can be dropped off at any time.
Notice: Televisions cannot be accepted!

Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up
Dates: June 25 – 29, 2012 & September 24 – 28, 2012

Location: Streets & Sewers Department
25500 Lakeland Blvd.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Acceptable Items:
-Oil or solvent based paints, sealers, primers, varnish, polyurethanes, shellacs, spray paint,
-kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid, automotive fluids
-pesticides, herbicides, insecticides
-caustic household cleaners, fluorescent bulbs
-adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer
-mercury

Will not accept latex paint (not considered a hazardous material) but can be picked up curbside on regular trash day.
This is for households only, NOT open to the business sector.

Scrap Tire Round-Up
Date: September 24 – September 28, 2012
Location: Streets & Sewers Department

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Only passenger and light truck tires can be accepted. Tires must be off of the rims.
