Foreclosure Prevention

The Foreclosure Prevention Committee

As a volunteer committee, our mission to the residents of Euclid is to develop strategies to inform, educate and assist residents in dealing with the challenges related to foreclosure and explore approaches to reduce the number  and impact of foreclosed homes in Euclid. In doing so we will:

  1. Develop a resident-friendly network of assistance options for families that are headed toward or currently in the throes of the foreclosure process,
  2. Establish the true status of Euclid "House-ing" stock stratifying owner-occupied properties, rentals, vacant, foreclosed properties and residences for sale.
  3. And working with the appropriate city staff, contribute to the overall housing strategy in the City of Euclid's Strategic Plan.

In addition the HOPE for Homeowners program will refinance mortgages for borrowers who are having difficulty making their payments, but can afford a new loan insured by HUD's Federal Housing Administration. Go to www.hud.gov/hopeforhomeowners for more information.
