E. 222nd Street Reconstruction Project

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Work completed this past week:

  • Existing fire hydrant and valve removal throughout project continued.
  • Asphalt milling along the west side of East 222nd Street was completed.
  • Grading for curb replacement began between Crystal Avenue and Babbitt Road along the west side of East 222nd Street.
  • Concrete sawing removal and replacement began along the west side of East 222nd Street between Crystal Ave. and Babbitt Road.
  • Southbound only traffic (one lane) continued along the east side of East 222nd Street from Babbitt Road to Tracy Avenue.
  • Two-way traffic continued between Tracy Avenue and Lakeland Blvd..

Work planned for this week:

  • Existing fire hydrant and valve removal throughout project to continue.
  • Grading for curb replacement to continue between Crystal Avenue and Babbitt Road along the west side of East 222nd Street.
  • Concrete pavement sawing removal and replacement to continue along the west side of East 222nd Street between Crystal Ave. and Babbitt Road.
  • Setup for concrete curb placement between Crystal Avenue and Babbitt Road along the west side of East 222nd Street to begin.
  • Brick work may begin this week at the southwest end of the project.
  • Southbound only traffic (one lane) to continue along the east side of East 222nd Street from Babbitt Road to Tracy Avenue.
  • Two-way traffic (one lane in each direction) to continue between Tracy Avenue and Lakeland Blvd..

As with any construction project there may be unplanned water outages, temporary road closures, noise, etc. We will work hard to keep the disruptions down to a minimum, but we ask that you be patient.
