Forming a Neighborhood Association?

The Community Policing Unit of the City of Euclid's Police Department wants to partner with you to start your own Neighborhood Association! It's a fairly simple process but it can't start without you! You are the con-duit for folks that reside on your street. Assisting in the start up of the association, doesn't necessarily mean you have to be named the President, it simply means you can begin the three month process for everyone to gel together.
Step One
Simply begin by contacting the Community Policing Unit at 289-8449. The staff will walk you through a short survey that they'll provide for you to distribute to the residents on your street(s). This is meant to gather their feedback with any concerns they have so we can more appro-
Privately conduct the first meeting.
Step Two
Once you gather the completed surveys, a review will be done on those results. The CP Unit will schedule the first meeting at a loca-tion nearest your area on a day and time that's mutually agreed upon. Your Council-person will be invited to all meetings as well as any special guest to address neighbor-hood concerns. This may include the Euclid Housing Department to talk about property upkeep, perhaps the Euclid Library to talk about their home delivered services and many more. Additionally, the CP Unit will create, duplicate and at times deliver the first meeting notice.
Step Three
One of the CP staff will conduct the first three monthly meetings with the intent to encourage open communication, provide solutions for neighborhood concerns and
most importantly exemplify how to run a successful goal-oriented meeting.
It makes no difference if your neighborhood is one street, two streets or more or if your neighborhood is an apartment complex or condominium group. Everyone can take part in helping their residential area be as safe as possible.
Events of the Future
Once organized, your group can take part in many special events like block parties, bike parades, casino trips and more! You can also become more involved with the Police Department by taking the Block Watch Street Captain Training and attending the Citizen's Police Academy.
