60+ Transportation Service

We know the past few months have been difficult.  As we ease into a new normal, we’d like to make it a little easier by offering transportation services to our members.  To best protect our senior citizens and employees, we’ve implemented the following procedures.


Temporary Transportation Guidelines
Senior Programs members wanting to schedule a transport for local shopping, banking, or medical appointments, will contact senior programs at 216-289-2985, and leave a message for the coordinator which includes their name, telephone number, and where they would like to go.

The coordinator will return the call to schedule the trip and explain the following transportation guidelines.

  1. Only one (1) senior will be permitted in the van.
  2. Prior to entering the van the following safety protocols will be followed.
    1. The senior will have their temperature taken.  If they have a temperature of 100 or higher, they will not be transported.
    2. The senior will have their hands sanitized (provided by the driver).
    3. The senior will put on a mask (if they do not have one, a disposable mask will be provided).  The senior is required to wear the mask for the entire transport.
    4. The senior will not be seated in the seats closest to the driver.

Drivers will sanitize the van prior to picking up the senior and again after transport is complete.  Drivers will wear a mask whenever another person is in the van, and drivers will routinely sanitize their hands.

Most of our seniors are on the transportation grant and will not be charged.  The fee schedule below is for those choosing not to take advantage of the grant.  All fees are considered a donation to Senior Programs, and cash payment must be made to the driver prior to transport (please inquire if you have any questions).  Donations must be for the exact amount as divers will be unable to make change.

Shopping - $3 roundtrip for the following local stores; Dave’s, Aldi, Marc’s, Dollar General and Drug Mart.  You will have 1 hour to shop and we will transport a maximum of 8 bags.

Banking - $3 roundtrip to any local bank.

Medical Appointments within the City - $6 roundtrip.  Appointment must be between 9AM-3PM, with no return transport being offered after 4 PM.

Medical Appointments outside of the City - $10 roundtrip.  Appointments must be between 9AM-2PM, with no return transport being offered after 3:30 PM.

Note - Medical appointment transportation service is limited to the following:

East to Lake West Hospital
South to Hillcrest Hospital
West to VA Hospital, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital
All of Euclid

Transportation availability may be limited because of reduced staffing hours.  We will do our best to accommodate you, but please understand we have limitations.  There will be no transportation services available on Mondays (our food distribution day).  Please schedule your transportation at least one week in advance.
