E. 200th Streetscape Project

Edit Current Layout

    Description

The East 200th Street Streetscape Project is a community-driven planning process to review and update the streetscape elements along the East 200th Street corridor. The project seeks to develop a streetscape plan ahead of sewer repairs and street resurfacing planned for 2024. Proposed streetscape elements include, but are not limited to benches, banners, bicycle racks, street art, medians/pedestrian refuges, and planters. This Project intends to maintain the East 200th Street corridor as an attractive location for current and future businesses, their customers, and residents who live nearby. The Project, currently in the planning phase, is seeking feedback from residents, businesses, and community stakeholders on the type of streetscape elements desired.

    Benefits

    • Celebrating a unique sense of place. With a tree-lined, 30-foot-wide street and a mix of old and new buildings, the East 200th Street corridor has a unique sense of place that should be celebrated through streetscape elements and infrastructure.
    • Safer Transportation for everyone. Whether you visit the East 200th Street corridor via vehicle, bike, bus, or on foot, improvements to the streetscape elements and infrastructure will support safer transportation for all visitors.
    • Improved Infrastructure. With planned repairs to the sewer lines and street resurfacing, the East 200th Street corridor will have updated infrastructure that requires less ongoing maintenance and repairs by the City’s Department of Public Service.

    Project Details

    What is the contractor’s name?

    Terrace Construction Co., Inc.

Who should I contact if there is an issue during construction?

Terrace Construction will be providing notification shortly with their contact information, including an emergency contact phone number. Please contact Terrace Construction for immediate concerns. Otherwise, please e-mail Patrick Grogan-Myers at pgrogan-myers@cityofeuclid.com or call (216) 289-2830 with non-urgent questions or concerns.

What is the timeline for construction?

Waterline work will take place in three phases, with the plan to begin at N. Lakeland Boulevard and moving north to Lake Shore Boulevard. The plan is for the water main replacement to be complete by the end of November 2024 and then begin road repairs and repaving in Spring 2025. Construction is projected to be complete in September 2025.

How will traffic patterns change during construction?

During construction, traffic on E. 200th Street will be restricted to northbound only. Southbound traffic will have to detour to E. 185th Street or E. 222nd Street. To be clear, during construction you will not be able to drive southbound on E. 200th Street toward Interstate 90 during construction.

What are the first steps of construction?

Terrace will begin by putting in the temporary waterline. This temporary waterline will run above ground and connect to each property to maintain water service during construction. Once the temporary waterline is in place, Terrace will begin the process of digging up the roadway and installing the new water main.

Will my business lose water service?

Your business will have water service during construction through the use of a temporary waterline. There may be a brief period of time when Terrace Construction is switching your water service from the underground water main to the temporary above-ground waterline. Terrace Construction will let you know ahead of time when they anticipate to make this switchover.

How often will updates be provided? How can I learn more information?
