Job Title:           Accounting Clerk II

Department:      Finance       

Status:               A. Unclassified B. Nonexempt-FLSA 

           

Job Summary:   Responsible for daily operations in the finance department in areas of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Assigned to one main area, but will be trained to cover other areas as necessary. Works under the immediate supervision of the Director or designee.

       

           

Job Duties:

  • Assist the Accounts Payable Clerk with auditing & processing requisitions, and any other duties that may arise.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable Clerk with money received by all departments, enter data into computer, prepare and balance daily balancing and bank deposits and other duties that may arise.
  • Prepare weekly Board of Control agenda & minutes, and advise departments of procedures.
  • Assist department with mail function & special projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Director or designee.

Work Environment: Office. Sedentary work: exerting negligible force; occasional walking and standing. Physical activity: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping. Perform substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, fingers, and hands.


Requirements:  High school graduate. College courses in accounting preferred. Prior municipal accounting experience preferred. Ability to express ideas and instruction clearly, accurate and main confidentiality on departmental matters. High degree of computer competency required.
                                     

Grade 8: $17.40 - $24.05, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, 40 hours/week
