The jury system is an integral part of our American system of government. Jury duty is a legal obligation and a civic duty that is placed upon all citizens. The Euclid Municipal Court conducts jury trials in both civil and criminal cases. You may be randomly selected to serve as a prospective juror in the Euclid Municipal Court. All prospective jurors are selected randomly by computer from public information obtained from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

If your name is selected, a prospective juror questionnaire is mailed to you. This questionnaire must be filled out completely and returned to the Euclid Municipal Court. Once jurors are needed, names are randomly selected and summonses are mailed to prospective jurors. If you receive a summons for jury duty, the summons will advise you as to when you are to report to the Euclid Municipal Court. It will provide you with information as to when and how you should contact the Court regarding your service.

It is important to note that even though you are summoned for jury duty it does not mean that you will actually serve as a juror. Prospective jurors are questioned by the Court, the prosecution and the defense. If you do in fact appear in court as a prospective juror, the law provides that you will be compensated in the amount of $25.00 for each day that you are required to attend.
