NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING

TALKING POINTS

Do you struggle with knowing what's on your members' minds? Try leading a conversation using these statements:

I wish we had _________ in Euclid.

If money were no object, I wish we could add ___________ as a service for residents.

We used to have ________ services in Euclid. I wish we could get them back!

You can choose one of these each meeting and have folks answer them on slips of paper as they sign in. Pull one or more from the jar and see how this conversation grows! Focus on possibilities! Need a special speaker to follow up at your next meeting? Contact Kristal to make that happen!

 Frequently Asked Questions

from Residents

The following "Did you know?" column is a culmination of questions I receive often!

Did you know?.....

...in Euclid, there's a requirement to register your VACANT PROPERTY? This ordinance strives to make property owners responsible for the condition of their home at all times to minimize any negative impact on the homes of the neighbors.

...you should call the Euclid Police Department non-emergency number of 731-1234 if an unregistered SOLICITOR comes to your door? The truth is that most often we've arranged for any visitors to come over so if someone knocks unexpectedly, chances may be that it is someone selling something. All solicitors in Euclid must register with the police department before walking through our neighborhoods. They will have a copy of this registration on EPD letterhead if they've been approved.

...all rental properties go through an annual inspection to make sure the property is up to code? This is in an effort to ensure all residents have a safe structure to live in.

...there are several FREE COMMUNITY MEALS offered in our city? If you're struggling, please check these locations out on the "Social Services" web page of this website. If you love someone that's struggling, pass this information on.

...it is illegal to garbage pick in Euclid? You can choose to call this in to the Euclid Police Department at 731-1234. There are probably numerous reasons why someone would go through your curbside garbage. They may be down-and-out and looking for items for themselves or to sell for a few dollars. It's important for you to know that alot can be learned about you by the garbage you toss. You can tell if someone is most likely a single senior citizen. You can tell what kind of new electronics may have just been purchased and installed. Keep each other safe and exercise caution. Consider calling EPD when you see someone cruising the tree lawns prior to garbage pick-up. Be prepared to give a vehicle description and report the direction they're travelling.

...the Euclid Lakefront Community Center offers Benefits Check-up? Contact senior programs at 289-2985 to schedule an appointment.  The National Council on Aging provides this program to assist seniors with accessing benefits to help pay for medications, utilities, food and more.

...there's a daytime curfew for school-age children during the school day during the school year?  Keep our children safe by contacting the Euclid Police Department at 731-1234 if you see someone breaking this curfew.

...it's illegal to park your car on the street during the hours of 2am and 6am?
